Happy Father's Day!

The cutest picture ever of Eric and Regan!

Last year's Father's Day pictureAfter we ate lunch we went over to Grandad and Dolly's. Regan had a great time playing with Grandad and talking things over with Dolly in the garden.
Three generations of Barkers.... I finally figured out how to make Regan smile for pictures. It's not very lady-like, but if I make a burping sound, Regan cracks up laughing. I guess that makes her a Livingston too! :)
While we were over there, Dolly asked Eric to put together her little grill. Regan must've thought Eric was doing it wrong, because she grabbed all the gear and started jabbering away like she was telling him how to do it right. It was the funniest thing to watch!
I put her hair in a ponytail the other day. It looks cute from the back and the side, but in the front it only emphasizes the mullet-like hairdo we've got going on...

Regan's summer

Here is Regan modeling Daddy's sunglasses in the hotel room during our "Tour of Texas"
Again in our hotel room.... she had so much fun talking to the baby in the mirror! It was so funny to watch.
Regan has really taken after her father when it comes to water -- she doesn't like it! The other day she fell off the step trying to go into the office (hence all the red marks on the left side of her body!) and since she was already in a bad mood, I let her take her ball in the bathtub. Bright idea #4 -- she loved it and didn't cry once the whole bath!!
Here she is sitting in the tiger (leopard?) chair that some friends gave us. Lucy immediately claimed it as her bed, but Regan is starting to take over. She finally starting to want to read books -- can you believe my child isn't usually interested in reading!?
She was walking (yes, walking is a new thing, as well as her 7th tooth!) around the living room the other day and got really interested in The Price is Right.
Last night Regan ate grilled chicken, rice and vegetables, and mashed potatos. Or at least, she tried to eat it! :) Most of it did actually end up in her mouth, believe it or not.
Mmm... finger lickin' good!

Happy Birthday Regan!!

We had a Hawaiin luau birthday party/cookout for Regan's 1st Birthday, which is actually tomorrow. :) She loved the birthday cake and we think she was the cutest little hula dancer there is!

Do you like Eric's apron?
Rogaine and her best bud, Hubson.
Aunt Karen, I promise this wasn't open, she was only licking the ice off the top!
Cake time!!

Busy days

Well, as you can tell, we've had a very busy couple of weeks. I'm a nerd and forgot which way the pictures download, but here are a few pics from the most recent adventures in our lives.

This past weekend Regan and I took a trip to El Porvenir with my family for the Christian church in Elkhart's family camp. We had a good time, even though Regan didn't want me out of her sight the whole weekend! :) (By the way, Eric was in Corpus Christi with the band so he didn't get to come)
Here is our family. Rowdy had to work as well, but we still had fun even without the two boys. The girl standing behind me is Caitlin Kay, my nanny for the weekend. I was so glad I brought her along to help out with not only Regan, but all the kids.
I've slowly begun introducing real foods to Regan. She ate 10 or so real green beans up at camp, and I was almost as proud of myself as I was of her! :) Here she is the other night after eating spaghetti. She was such a mess!!
The big adjustment in our lives has been that we got a new puppy! She's a cute little mutt, and we've really enjoyed her so far. She's almost 8 weeks old and we named her Lucy. She is a mix between a boston terrier and a miniature schnauzer (or however you spell that). Regan was a little scared of her at first, but now whenever we make kissing noises for Lucy to come to us, Regan does it too! :)
The cutest picture EVER!!
A few weeks ago, my Dad had a book-signing in Elkhart. Eric was home sick, so Regan and I decided to let him out of his room for awhile and we took off to Elkhart to be there for Dad. Here is Regan with the Weaver girls... it's hard to believe I've known this family since Mikaea was only a year older than Regan is now!!

Easter!!!

Regan has been so cute lately, I couldn't decide which pictures to put on here, so instead I put them on in 3 parts! Enjoy!

Here she is on Easter Sunday reading the book Grammy and Grampa sent her... How precious is this!?
A somewhat decent picture of her dress, but she tore a hole in her tights at church.
Does she know how to work the camera or what!?
Here she is in her adorable bonnet from Nana and Papa (that Daddy hated, of course!). Everyone at church loved it, though!

Supper at Granny's

Granny and Papa had us over for supper the other night, and it was good!! This is the only picture I have of the two of them looking at the camera (sort-of).... sorry Granny! :)
Eric was making Regan laugh...
I took these last pictures mostly for the Gran-girls... here's Regan playing on the bed Beth Ann and I used to share... can you believe two of us used to fit in that!?!
And here she is playing on the bed that the other girls always fought over... She was talking all over the place, so I never got a good picture of her without the tongue, but oh well... She thought the ladder was way cool.

Lots of new things!

Here's Regan as she enjoys her first few sips of a real fruit smoothie. Kristen and I made strawberry-banana smoothies and Regan loved it! It was only afterwards that I realized it had milk in it... oh well, it hasn't hurt her yet!
Here she is hanging out in Hudson's jumping thing. She loved it and went crazy jumping for about 4 minutes!
Here she is drumming on the table with Daddy.... oh joy, another drummer in the house...
And lastly, here is Regan pulling out all the bowls and napkins in the drawer as I fixed dinner last week.. at least it kept her away from the hot stove!

Standing on her own two feet!

Regan has recently started to stand all by herself. She's doing really well, and has gone anywhere from 5 seconds to almost a minute before she either falls or realizes we aren't holding on to her and so she sits down. It won't be long before my baby is walking.....

Here she is after church on Sunday. We got this adorable dress from some family friends and I think it's so cute. Eric had to leave for church before we did, but when we got there he looked at Regan and then said, "Kayla. Why did you put her in a foo-foo dress? You know I don't like those." But I think she looked absolutely adorable. Especially with her orange binky hanging out of her mouth! :)
I really wanted a recent picture of Eric and I to put on my desk at work, and this is the best one I could get from him. Do you see what I have to live with, people?

Last Wednesday we had the coolest lightning storm ever. Eric was outside taking pictures of it for about 30 minutes (I know, that's not smart but try telling him that). Here are two awesome pictures. We submitted them to the news channel to be put on the weather, but they seemed to be more interested in the tornados....

Spring Break

Well, we've had a very busy but relaxing (is that possible!?) spring break. It started out with a fun trip to Tulsa. Actually, the trip itself was horrifying being as how Regan threw up on the Kilpatrick turnpike and I ended up holding her in my lap the rest of the way to Grammy's, but the time in Tulsa was fun!

Eric watched Regan this week while I was at work and even though she again was a teething bear (tooth #4 sliced its way through Friday - PTL!) they had great father/daughter bonding time.

Yesterday to celebrate the Irish, we had an all-green dinner and invited our neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Lutyens over. They're like 110 years old and have been married about that long. And I feel safe saying that because they told us they're too old to have a computer, so I'm pretty sure they won't be checking our blog! :) It was a fun evening and Regan, of course, was a hit with her St. Patty's day shirt (Thanks, Cousin Kaitlin!) and hair bow!
Here are a few pictures from our time in Tulsa:

Two monkeys at the zoo: Lindsey is on bottom, Leah on top.
The lions were about to be fed and they were so awesome to watch because they kept pacing back and forth and the male lion was even roaring. It was pretty fun!
The polar bear was so curious and amazing to watch. He kept swimming right up to our window and looking at us, then swimming to the other side of the pool and then back. It was so neat to watch.
Miss Regan, ready for her day at the zoo!
